Schools are city’s voice for change

They are often blamed for the problem but it seems it is the capital’s youth that hates litter the most.
So when the annual Capital Clean-Up Campaign gave pupils across London the chance to design an anti litter poster for their local council - judges were amazed by the response.
Hundreds of entry’s were received and most were from primary schools including

Capital Clean-Up Campaign is launched
Litter, graffiti, fly-posting, fly-tipping, dog fouling. It’s a grimy scene. One all too familiar on the streets of the capital – until now.
Keep Britain Tidy, London councils, the Metropolitan Police, and businesses including McDonald’s, Enterprise and The Co-operative have united for a six week deep clean of the capital.

Litter picks are leisure for Londoners
Bikes, boats and shopping trolleys were just some of the unusual items removed from the canal in East London last week at the launch of the Capital Clean-Up Campaign.
