2009 Capital Clean-Up Campaign goes for gold!

2009 Capital Clean-Up Campaign goes for gold!

22 January 2009

The 2nd annual Capital Clean-Up Campaign will run April 27 – June 5, 2009.

The Capital Clean-Up Campaign encourages communities to take an active role in improving local environmental quality through coordinated clean-up events. The campaign seeks to raise awareness on issues affecting London’s environment through activities ranging from litter picks to habitat restoration. Last year, nearly 300 events were held across the capital as part of the campaign, with thousands of Londoners rolling up their sleeves and getting stuck in. The 2009 campaign will work with a range of partners, including local authorities and community groups to help achieve a cleaner London. The campaign will focus on litter and graffiti, two of the most visible environmental issues affecting communities across the capital.

Get involved!

Tired of seeing litter strewn across streets in your neighbourhood? Why not organise a clean-up event in your area between April 27 – June 5 and become a part of the solution for a cleaner and greener London. Everyone is welcome to participate, and we are particularly keen for community groups representing London’s diversity, such as faith groups, to get involved.

Be sure to let us know what you have planned so we can promote your event on the Capital Clean-Up Campaign website. For more information on the Capital Clean-Up Campaign, please visit: www.capitalcleanup.co.uk, or email: corinna@london21.org.uk.
