Chance to sponsor London’s biggest clean-up

Pledge support to 2010 blitz on litter

21 December 2009

Sponsors are being sought for London's biggest ever blitz on litter.

The annual Capital Clean-Up campaign, which will run from 12th May to 23rd June, aims to make London a cleaner, greener and safer place to be.

The plan is to try to make London the cleanest city on earth in time for the 2012 Olympics and the future environmental wellbeing of the city.

The chance to support the campaign is a valuable opportunity for organisations who want to strengthen their commitment to local environmental quality in a way that is targeted at London’s key decision makers, their stakeholders and the media.

Councils across London are joining together to organise hundreds of clean-up events targeting known grot spots that ruin the appearance of public places.  Activities include graffiti removal, canal cleaning and litter picks. The involvement of the community is vital and so far 6,000 members of the public have supported the campaign.

Leading sponsors will be recognised in the media campaign giving them prime recognition alongside the official organisers.  They will also feature on the Capital Clean-Up campaign materials, used in over 250 events and distributed to London councils and all partners.

Rachel Bailey, Capital Clean-Up Campaign Chair, says: “The 2010 campaign is going to be bigger and better than ever, which will be an excellent platform for sponsors that share our aim to make London a cleaner, greener and safer place to be.”
